Our suggestions for those who are taking the AIEEE examination.
Traffic jams can ruin a career. Acquaint yourself with the centre one day in advance, and plan to reach it well in advance to gain mental composure. Accuracy and precision have top priority in AIEEEexam. Take a moment to see the number of questions and correspondingly allot time for each question.Be harsh to yourself in meeting critical deadlines of time." The AIEEE is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering and architecture courses in the country. The most sought after among these are the programmes at NIT, the Indian Institute of Information Technology and the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information & Communication Technology (the final list of colleges is yet to be posted).
The format There are two papers in Maths and Physics plus Chemistry and there is an aptitude test for Architecture/Planning courses. All papers are objective type with multiple choice questions (MCQs) with four options. An additional drawing section, however, is present as part of the aptitude paper. The MCQ's have negative marks too: 1/3rd of the marks for a question will be deducted for a wrong answer. No marks are gained or lost for omission.
Writing tips Accuracy should be your priority and then follow it up with speed. All papers carry negative marks, which means haste answering will realy make your life miserable. But take an educated guess occasionally. If you've eliminated two of the four options, remember there is a 50 percent chance of success. It takes three wrong guesses to completely undo one correct answer. Take a moment to see the number of questions and correspondingly allot time for each question. Check and stick to that time. While attempting Physics/Chemistry paper, allot time for both. Math, Physics and chemistry is the tie-breaker order so give top priority in that order
Preparation for the exam Pay attention to formula. Plugging in numbers is a lot faster than trying to work out part or the whole formula from first principles. Look up all those thumb-rules and heuristics. Practice as many MCQ's as possible (RightExam helps you do that) Keep timing yourself - can you stick to an allotted time? 45 sec-1 min. is generally suitable per question. Check your stationery a day before the exam. Wish you all the best! |
